KIND

Keisuke is the type of man who, despite appearances, would give the shirt off his back to the first person in need. Whether it is due to the many years in the study of soumanotics or the positive influence of his childhood, his universal code will always usurp the push of faults.

Having said that, and in somewhat stark contrast, his universal view on the affairs of the star are rather obtuse. He is of the belief that all races conduct themselves entirely by their own self-serving interests, and not for the benefit of others. It is both a beneficial and detrimental criticism.

An individual who takes learning as a penance, there is no knowledge not worth seeking out to the young Archon. Though he is not limitless in skill nor faults, he seeks to be of use in whichever capacity would best suit his talents. As for soumanoutics and matters of aether, he can be a realiable asset.

Though knowledge and polish in everyday life is treated as an asset, those who come to know him will see that he can be a basket-case when things go wrong. A usually taciturn and placid exterior will melt away to worry, frustration, embarrassment and everything in between. In forced into a corner, it can be an entirely different type of 'chaos'.

And yet, years of young practice underneath the tutelage of a strict overseer have made Keisuke a being bound by logic and reason. Though there are moments in the past where he might've found himself unhinged, he lives by a creed to be a concentrated voice of reason. Weighing all options on a set of scales; practical and reliable.

In a constant state of overlap, the Archon doesn't always practice what he preaches. His direct manner of speaking and a tendency to weigh heavily on the spectrum of hubris, those at a distance might find him off putting. However, coming to learn of his own faults to those he's grown close with have helped in this regard.

This list is in no way exclusive, but kind of a nuanced approach (so forgive me if it makes little sense).Hooks listed in bold red are more catered towards establishing long-term, mature plotlines.I'd also be more than willing to work any of these concepts into your own hooks, or finding out ways that we could perhaps mesh the two into something new entirely. Or send me your own, I promise, I don't bite! I love hearing about people's creativity and finding ways that I can help support or facilitate those thoughts through planning. Keisuke is a very versatile character in many respects, having spent some long days in Eorzea for a while now, so he is very well-versed in his development current day. What I mean to effectively say is, he's certainly not just a scholar anymore.

HOOK ONE — AT HOME IN HIS HARBORSharlayan natives would perhaps know Keisuke by name, as a former colleague, or in brief passing throughout the grand city-state.He was born and raised under the thumb of Thaliak, and as such, has a deep appreciation for all things Sharlayan. Ever the adamant reader and scholar, one could have often found him deep within the bowels of the Studium. Perhaps, where one who'd renounced their desire to become an under-Archon not ought to be.

HOOK TWO — THE GLASS IS ALWAYS HALF EMPTY IN OTHARDAs a half-Doman, he has made a handful of trips to visit his father's family in Namai. Quite begrudgingly. Does your character hail from Doma, Hingashi proper, or perhaps the Steppe? There are several opportunities to which they may have crossed paths, as in his travels and with vague curiousity to the halves of his roots, he has taken a vested interest in traversing all of The Far East - should the opportunity have presented itself in the past.

HOOK THREE — HYPOTHESIS IN HYDATOSAs a practitioner in elemental aether and it's applications, the young scholar has found himself most enraptured by the inexplicable nuances in the Forbidden Lands. It is the foundation of his research, as far back as one could remember. Should your character find themselves equally as engrossed in the principles of elemental aether, they may have much to discuss and discover.

HOOK FOUR — EMBRACE THE UNKNOWNBy all accounts and having been an adventurer in Eorzea proper, Keisuke is not one to turn down a potential challenge; whether that be dispensing with less than savory individuals, delving into unknown ruins or mysteries, or investigating things that may not be all as they seem - his portfolio of dangerous encounters has grown extensively vast, and he will never shirk from said challenges.

HOOK FIVE — POETRY AND STOICISMA somewhat closeted fan of poetry, he would not outwardly disperse that he may quietly revel in the company of a fellow aesthete. All other manner of fiction does not tickle his fancy, as he has never been one for want of fantasy. Prose, however, is a different story. Any characters with an affinity for reading, or more creative forms of expression in general, might find they can connect much better with the Archon than others.

HOOK SIX — ELIXIR ENIGMAKeisuke is a skilled and sought-after purveyor of potions and tinctures. His endless apothecary pockets are a haven for adventurers seeking remedies for a wide range of ailments, from wounds sustained in battle to mysterious maladies that baffle even the most skilled healers. He has a deep curiosity and a sense of duty to uncover the mysteries of the realm. He has embarked on numerous quests to gather rare herbs, study ancient texts, and delve into the arcane to craft potions that can heal not only the body but also the spirit.
